18 or under? VRT is partnering with the City of Boise to offer unlimited rides all summer long (May 1 to August 31) to youth traveling in the Treasure Valley! Available for any VRT service in Boise, Garden City, Meridian, Nampa, and Caldwell.

You can also sign up and get a Youth Ride Free card at any Boise Library!
Please submit one form per youth.
VRT is excited to partner with the City of Boise to provide free bus passes to youth 18 and under, traveling in the Treasure Valley from May 1 to August 31, 2026.
This pilot program, designed for the summers of 2026 and 2027, is funded by the City of Boise through a grant from the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation and advances goals in the City’s 2025 Youth Roadmap, which calls for reducing transportation barriers so young people can access opportunities across the region.
Did you know high school students in the Boise School District can ride the bus for free? Just show your school ID to your driver and get on board!
Did you know children 5 and under ride free with a fare-paying passenger? Just let your driver know when you board!
*includes Boise High, Borah High, Capital High, Timberline High, Frank Church High School, Community Based Education Training Program (CBET), Student Transition Education Program (STEP), and Boise Alternative to Suspension and Expulsion (BOSS)
